Developing Your Case for Support

One of the most important aspects of successful fundraising is a compelling and urgent case for support. Donors need to know why your organization needs – and deserves – their philanthropic support. While it seems simple at the outset, there are many things to consider.

Who do you involve in the development of your case? What makes it urgent and compelling? How does it come to life?

Bruce sat down for an interview with DBD’s Lora Dow and Sara Luke. They’ve crafted over 100 cases for support for YMCAs and other nonprofit organizations, including capital, annual, endowment, grants and comprehensive case statements. In this session they share the techniques they employ to help organizations find the words and images that inspire generosity.

We’ve written about case development for years. Feel free to browse our blogs and read a few on the topic.

Thank you for sharing this podcast. This should be a great podcast to listen to every year before we start to develop our very own case for support. Thanks again for sharing your insights.
